Are you happy with your current natural deodorant?? I’m not. I’ve been using a popular natural deodorant for years, but I’m concerned about some of the ingredients being used, as they aren’t really natural. I also have a consistent itchy rash/red skin under my arms, that I’ve wondered if it’s from my deodorant. I haven’t really known what else to try, as I’ve heard making my own isn’t strong enough (and just getting my husband to use the natural brand was a miracle in itself) and the other natural products on the shelves are all similar to the brand I’m using.
Bubble & Bee, a high quality, organic personal care product company that offers the largest selection of USDA certified organic products in the world, was gracious enough to allow my husband and I to try their organic deodorant products at no cost. I’m excited to share my results with you.
When I first read the labels on Bubble & Bee’s deodorants I was relieved to see that they were truly all-natural and certified organic, something my current deodorant can’t boast. They offer 3 different types of deodorants, Pit Putty in a jar, Pit Putty in a deodorant tube and Deodorant Spray.
Here’s my experience with their deodorants. Bear with me as I get a little personal about my armpits (I’ll spare you pics 😉 ).
Day 1- Pit Putty Deodorant Stick
The first day, I tried their deodorant stick, as that’s the application I’m most familiar with. I tried the lavender vanilla scent and my husband tried the spearmint scent, and they both smelled pleasant. I didn’t follow the instructions that said only one or two swipes were needed (I was afraid it wouldn’t be enough coverage), so I put way too much on the first arm and it left a little white residue. I followed the instructions on the other arm, and only used 2 swipes, and there was no residue at all and it went on smoothly.
The scent stayed consistent throughout the day. I was surprised as typically naturally scented products tend to wear off throughout the day. At one point I told my husband to smell my armpit. He reluctantly agreed and said it “smelled good, like vanilla.”
I stayed dry the entire day, and at the end of the day, the deodorant scent was still going strong. With my other natural deodorant, if I didn’t reapply it in the middle of the day, by the end of the day, I would start to smell a little. This was not the case at all with Bubble & Bee’s deodorant. As I sit here at 9:30 at night writing this (still smelling my pits for the umpteenth time), there is no hint of body odor. Also, after the first day, the red rash on my underarms started to disappear.
My husband was the true test, as he’s a man, and quite frankly more smelly! 😉 He was a hard one to convince in the first place to switch to a natural deodorant years ago, and he was never really a fan. He had to put a ton on in the mornings and reapply during the day, and was still a little stinky by days end. The first day he tried the Bubble & Bee’s stick deodorant, he used much less than with his normal natural deodorant. He was pretty active during the day, taking our son out in the snow. By the evening, my husband still had the deodorant smell, but started to have a little body odor. Had we planned to go out for the evening, he would have had to reapply it. However, it lasted longer than our current natural deodorant. My super frugal husband (even more than I am) even said after the first day, that if it kept up working this well, he’d be willing to pay twice as much as what we pay now for deodorant, as he used that much less of B&B’s.
Here’s what we tried:

Bubble & Bee Pit Putty Stick, Spearmint $10.85

Day 2- Pit Putty Cream
On day two, my husband and I both tried the Pit Putty in the jar. I absolutely love the smell of lilacs, so I was in love with the lilac scent in this deodorant. Again, it lasted throughout the day for me. My husband’s had a nice “manly” scent and his lasted throughout the day with no odor, even at the end of the evening. We are very impressed with the efficacy of this deodorant.
Here’s what we tried:
Bubble & Bee Spring Lilac Pit Putty cream, 2 oz. $10.85

Bubble & Bee Super Pit Putty cream, 2 oz. $10.85

Day 3- Deodorant Spray
On the final day, we both tried the spray deodorant. The spray we tried had more of a manly scent, but they offer many scents on their site, including “create your own.” It stung a bit when I first sprayed it on, but my skin may have been extra sensitive as I had just shaved. The scent lasted throughout the day, but after dinner time, I could start to smell a little odor. I was home, and I figured my family had to love me anyway, so I didn’t put more on but if I had planned to go out that evening I would have had to reapply.
My husband said he could use a refresh by the time he was done with work. But, even the spray, outlasted our current natural deodorants. I actually love the smell of it for my husband, and think it could be used as a natural cologne as well.
Here’s what we tried:
“Super” Natural Spray Deodorant, Patchouli, Lemon & Clove, 2 oz. $10.85
Ingredients: Natural grain spirits, organic lemon essential oil, patchouli essential oil, and organic clove essential oil
Overall rating 10/10
Would we buy from Bubble & Bee in the future? Absolutely. In fact, I had an order coming through Amazon for our current deodorant and I cancelled it. These are a little pricier than what we are accustomed to paying for deodorant, but it worked so much better than our current deodorant, is organic and has healthier, safe ingredients (you could practically eat it, it’s so clean!) and will likely last 2x or longer than our current products. I highly recommend Bubble & Bee deodorants. Oh, and by the way, at the end of the 3 days trying B&B deodorants, my underarm rash is nearly gone!
My husband’s preference is the jar putty, while mine is the stick deodorant. I love that they have several options. And, even better, they guarantee that their product will work against odor (more info. here)! If you find that the deodorant is not effective against odor (which I assume is very rare, based on our experience), they will offer a replacement of your choice.
It appears I’m not the only one with a favorable review of Bubble & Bee products. You can check out pages and pages of other reviews of their products here.
You can check out the products we tried here, as well as their many other products including facial care, lotions, soaps, hair care, toothpaste, lip balm and more.
I was provided products and compensated for my time invested in this post, however, the opinions, as always, are 100% my own.
