It’s that time of year again, where we begin to anticipate what we can expect on the Instant Pot this Black Friday 2017. I’ve put together a list of the different Instant Pot options as well as what we saw for prices last year on Amazon.

For those not familiar with the Instant Pot, it’s one of the most popular small kitchen appliances. It’s basically an electric pressure cooker. So, unlike a stovetop pressure cooker, the Instant Pot locks, seals and releases steam if there’s too much pressure, so there’s virtually no concern of explosions as there have been with traditional pressure cookers.
The Instant Pot cooks like a slow cooker, but in a fraction of the time. For example, I make roasts in an hour that are as tender as if I’d slow cooked it all day. Whole chickens can be cooked in 25 minutes, chicken breasts in 15 minutes, bone broth in 2 hours (as opposed to 24 hours stove top). One of my favorite things about the Instant Pot is I can cook rock hard, frozen meat (because we all forget to defrost meat from time to time or like, all the time!) quickly without defrosting it. I cook frozen chicken breasts in 25 minutes and they come out extremely tender and juicy, you’d never know it was cooked from frozen.
The Instant Pot also eliminates the need for multiple pans, pots and dishes. You can saute the meat in the Instant Pot prior to cooking.
Here’s what reader Nikki says about her new Instant Pot:
“I love the Instant Pot! It has changed the way we eat- real food so much more accessible and convenient that we never find ourselves running out and getting carry out in a pinch. I’ve made whole meals of course but also yogurt, artichokes, beets, hard boiled eggs, soups- the list goes on and on. A bit intimidating a first but super easy once you get the hang of it. I am buying another as soon as I see a deal!”
There are now several options for the Instant Pot, the 6-in-1, 7-in-1, 8-in-1, 9-in-1 and 10-in-1 in a variety of sizes. All of the pressure cookers act as a pressure cooker, sauté/browning, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer & warmer. The 7-in-1 offers all of these and also has a yogurt making function (you can make dairy or dairy-free yogurt, like coconut milk yogurt) while the newer 8-10-in-1 offer newer features like egg cooking and cake baking.
I have the 6 qt. 7-in-1 and it is the perfect size for most dishes. I can make large batches of soups, rice and broth as well as 3 lb. roasts, larger whole chickens and other meats.
Last year, Amazon had the best prices on the Instant Pot on Black Friday and Prime Day. I’ve included the links to the Instant Pot products available on Amazon right now, as well as the regular prices so you can compare when they start to drop.

Here are some of the lowest prices we’ve seen on Amazon in the past on the Instant Pot (including last year’s Black Friday price).
Black Friday 2016- Instant Pot, 6 qt. 7-in-1 $68.95
Black Friday 2016- Instant Pot, 6 qt. 6-in-1 $59
Black Friday 2016- Instant Pot, 5 qt. 6-in-1 $49
Prime Day 2017- Instant Pot 8 qt. 7-in-1 $89.99
I expect the prices of the Instant Pot to drop Thanksgiving afternoon/evening, and if they follow last year’s trend, they should drop even further on Black Friday. The prices actually went up for Cyber Monday, so if the price is low on Black Friday, I recommend grabbing it then.
There are some newer models, like the 3 qt. (I want one of these to prepare side dishes, it’s the perfect size!) and the 10-in-1 (with new cook features like Ultra, Egg Dishes and Cakes), so these could potentially be the ones marked down. You’ll want to be flexible on what model and size you buy as they don’t put all models on sale on Black Friday.
We should also see some of the accessories marked down on Black Friday, like glass lids, silicone lids, non-stick ceramic pots, mitts and more.
I’ll be monitoring and reporting the prices as soon as they drop here on All Natural Savings, so be sure to check the site frequently.
