I noticed last week at Whole Foods that Amy’s has revamped their gluten and dairy free frozen pizzas! They now offer gluten and dairy free pizza with meatless pepperoni. They have also switched over to their own signature organic, vegan cheese blend. Before, they were using Daiya, which I’m not a fan of, so I stopped buying Amy’s pizzas awhile ago. When I saw they had a new dairy-free cheese and improved gluten-free crust, I had to try it.

One thing I love about Amy’s, is they use organic ingredients when possible, which is rare for vegan and gluten-free products. Organic vegan cheese is virtually impossible to come by (other than Miyoko’s which is pricey), so I love that they use organic, dairy-free cheese.

Amy’s gluten and dairy free pizza was $9.99 at my Whole Foods, which isn’t a bad price. It cooked up nice and crispy. The crust was excellent and you couldn’t tell it was gf. It didn’t have that “rice” flavor other gluten-free products have. And, I LOVED the vegan cheese! It’s the best non-dairy mozzarella I’ve had. I wish they just sold the cheese so I could make other dishes with it. The only thing is the cheese is really sticky, so it can stick to your hands and the roof of your mouth. The meatless pepperoni is so-so. It’s kind of mushy, which isn’t a big deal when you’re eating it with the pizza. There’s not a lot of flavor to the pepperoni. My kids wanted me to take theirs off, otherwise they loved the pizza. I’m not vegan, just dairy-free, so next time I’ll remove their pepperoni and put on some Applegate turkey pepperoni.
Overall, I am so happy with Amy’s improved gluten and dairy free pizza. I’ll definitely be buying more for our Friday night pizza nights. Have you tried Amy’s newer gluten and dairy free pizza yet?
I LOVE Amy’s Pizzas (or anything Amy’s). I can’t remember which one I get but I”m vegan and gluten free. I actually LOVE Daiya cheese (melted/not melted/slices/their salad dressings/burritos)–but there are tons of other awesome vegan cheeses out there too that taste fantastic.
