I recently moved to Florida and had an army of ants in our kitchen and garage. I sprinkled DE around the perimeter of the rooms and doors and it killed of the ants that were there and no new ones have come in (I’m so thankful this worked as I really wanted to avoid chemicals!).
Diatomaceous earth is also a great source of silica. Food grade DE can be ingested. I let it settle in a jug of water, and drink from it throughout the week as a way to get silica in my diet (great for joints and skin).
