I’m pretty excited about my shopping trip yesterday, where I got over $76 worth of natural and organic meats, organic lettuce and organic bread for under $49! The nice part is, I didn’t have to do any prepping or clipping coupons. I just found some items that were expiring in the next few days and asked the manager for a discount. I’ll freeze the meat and bread and eat the lettuce in the next day.
I’ve been doing this over the past month or so, and I have a freezer full of organic meat that I got at some pretty nice discounts, just by checking dates and asking. I happen to have a Kroger nearby, but this can be done at any store.
I also checked the Manager Markdown section and grabbed a bunch of organic cereal, crackers and gluten free bread at deep discounts. I find that these products tend to get marked down more than conventional products, as people don’t buy them as much.
What deals have you gotten lately by asking for a markdown?
