If you’ve been to the grocery store lately looking for a clean, organic wine, you know how impossible it is! Grocery stores just don’t carry many clean wines, if any. Thankfully, Thrive Market just released a brand new line of organic, biodynamic wine with no added sugar or unnecessary additives. These wines also contain minimal sulfites (unlike conventional wine which contains loads of sulfites which can cause headaches) added during the winemaking process.
Thrive Market has some pretty high standards when it comes to their new wines. It’s sourced for low environmental impact, yet is still affordable and doesn’t sacrifice on taste. I was shocked to find out that conventional wines can contain up to 60 chemical materials that are not required to be printed on labels such as copper sulfate (to hide nasty smells), Velcorin (a chemical sterilizer), and added sugar. Eek, not something you want to be drinking!
You can choose from many different reds and whites, starting at just $11.99 a bottle when you buy a case of 6! Thrive Market was generous enough to send me a case of their wines to try and share my experience with you. I gathered together some friends and family to help me sample these wines. It was unanimous that each wine was very high quality and had a crisp, fresh taste. After trying these wines, I’m shocked at the low prices they are offered at. Here’s what we tried:
Thrive Market Wine Review
Tenuta dell’Ugolino Verdicchio Classico 2017: White wine with a mild, sweet taste. Perfect for those that prefer a slightly sweeter wine.
Chateau Gravelle Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2017: White Muscadet table wine with a dry, crisp taste. If you prefer the dryer taste of a chardonnay, this is a good choice.
BB De Berticot Cotes de Duras Bordeaux 2016: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot mix. Mild, sweet flavor. I typically prefer the taste of white wine but this red wine was mild enough and had great flavor.
Tenuta Santa Lucia Sangiovese Toscano 2014: A bold, full bodied red wine perfect to pair with a beef dish. We loved this wine as it had a twist off cork, which makes this a great gift or to bring to a party without having to worry about a wine key.
There wasn’t a wine that wasn’t enjoyed, we were very impressed with the quality and taste of these wines, the low prices and the clean, organic process of these wines. They have other whites and red wines to choose from if you prefer others.
