Review: FortyPlus Nutrition Organic Plant-Based Protein Blend Plus Giveaway (Enter to Win 1 of 10 Bags of Organic Protein!)

Finding a clean, organic protein powder is NOT an easy task. I actually gave up on adding protein to my smoothies as there weren’t any I could find that passed my ingredient criteria and tasted good. I really am tired of eating eggs all the time for breakfast though, so a good protein would help mix things up for me in the morning. So, when I heard from FortyPlus Nutrition about testing out their products and sharing my experience with you, I immediately checked the ingredients of the product. As soon as I saw how clean they were, I jumped at the chance to try them out. Let me start by sharing the ingredient list of their Organic Plant Protein Blend, because that’s the most important part: Organic pea protein, organic extra rich raw cacao powder, organic raw hemp protein, organic brown rice  protein, and organic de-bittered stevia. That’s it! It doesn’t get much cleaner than that. All of the ingredients are certified organic and are suitable for both gluten-free and vegan diets. These products are for anyone looking to add healthy protein to their diet, I’d feel fine even allowing my kiddos to have this in their smoothies.

Next, the taste test. I don’t normally drink protein that’s not in a shake, but to get a real feel for the taste I put a scoop in water and shook it up. It actually tasted really good just on its own! I love that it still has a sweet taste without any added sugar or syrup solids, like many other proteins contain. I have hypoglycemia, so I have to watch my carbs. This fits perfectly with my diet as it only has 3 net carbs after the 4 grams of fiber per scoop.

I also tried this out in a smoothie recipe with frozen berries, frozen banana, coconut milk, chia seeds and 1 scoop of protein. It tasted like a chocolate banana shake, delicious! This is definitely a product that I’ll continue using.
