I’ve been a Thrive Market shopper for several years now and I’ve always found them to be the lowest priced on organic staples. As I’ve told people this, they’ve asked how they compare with VitaCost. I was curious to see how Thrive Market stacked up to VitaCost prices, so I checked out the products I buy the most and compared between Thrive and Vitacost.
In every category, Thrive Market came out cheaper (sometimes MUCH cheaper) than Vitacost! As I searched around, I also noticed that Thrive Market has a larger selection of organic foods. Here are the items I compared prices on between Thrive Market and Vitacost.
Thrive Market Vs. Vitacost Price Comparison
I also love that Thrive Market has hundreds of items under their brand name, at super low prices. Â I’m a frequent buyer of Thrive’s brand name organic, gluten-free rolled oats, organic rice cakes, organic coconut wraps, aluminum free baking powder and more as these are the lowest prices I’ve seen anywhere on these products.
Both VitaCost and Thrive Market offer free shipping on orders $49+. Thrive Market offers a free 30 day trial, where you can have unlimited orders with them, but they do charge a $59 yearly fee after that (think Costco membership). They also offer weekly promotions where they will give you 10-15% off your entire order or a free product with an order, so I find between the cheaper prices than VitaCost and freebie and percentage off offers, it’s worth the fee.
New Thrive Market Customers Get 25% off Your First Entire Order!
If you’re new to Thrive Market, I have an awesome deal for you! By signing up for a FREE 30 day trial here, you can score 25% off your entire first order, so you can stock up on items for even cheaper!
Interesting! It’s a good idea to compare the two. We have s a small list of regular things we order and for us VitaCost is much cheaper.
I also use Vitacost. There’s no fee and with 10-20% coupons frequently available, their prices are great.
I’ve noticed that Vitacost hasn’t had as many good deals and/or coupons since they were bought out by Kroger’s, but their deals, prices, availability & occasional coupons(& freebies) still make them my go-to for staple products. As a single person with food allergies, it makes more sense to use a website like Vitacost, tho I am sure that some people with families & less restrictive diets might find it more bottom line cost-effective to use Thrive Market… Even with Vitacost name brand products, I can have some serious issues, if they are made in a facility, or on the same manufacturing equipment, as any of my allergens, so major label name brands I know & trust are usually my best option. I wait for things that I need to go on sale &/or have a coupon, & get the most bang for my buck, but I would be wasting money to pay a fee, if I didn’t need, or want, or could afford to make various purchases with enough frequency, as say a big family might require. So, I recommend Vitacost to anyone with special dietary needs & a finite budget, who doesn’t need to make purchases that frequently. Otherwise, Thrive Market may be the better option, but, at this point in time, it definitely is NOT for me.
I use Vitacost, at least once a month they offer 20% off and there is no fee, with the 20% off, their prices can’t be beaten! Nothing against Thrive, of course, it would be nice to just order and never have to worry about coupons too! So, it’s nice to have options. I love Vitacost customer service, I called once and said I was waiting for a 20% coupon to place my order, they said why wait, here is a 20% off code! To me, that’s customer service!
I joined Thrive Market, paid the fee, and then they stopped carrying the line of products (Mother Dirt) I joined to get. So no way did it pay off. I’ll go with VitaCost and the 20% off coupon they just sent me.
