I just received a surprising email from Whole Foods Market to their customers. They’ve announced that they have been acquired by Amazon of all places!
They state that they are committed to maintaining strict guidelines on the food they allow in their stores.
I’m actually excited to hear about the merger, as I knew Whole Foods was struggling. I’m glad that they’ll stay in business and continue offering foods that are hard to find elsewhere. While retail giants like Costco and Kroger are dipping more and more into natural & organic foods (which is great for finding bargains), I still enjoy the one stop shop approach at Whole Foods. When I shop at non-natural retailers, I have to go to several different stores each week to find all of the foods I need, but at Whole Foods I know I can find everything at one location, making it much easier to shop with two little ones in tow!
Still think Whole Foods is too pricey? Not if you’re utilizing their coupons! Keep up with the Whole Foods coupon matchups where I list all of Whole Foods advertised and unadvertised deals and match them up with coupons. This often makes for free and cheap products.
Here’s the email I received from Whole Foods regarding the merger:
